Victoria Lomasko – Drawing Protest

18plus

Victoria Lomasko, artist, curator, feminist and activist (Moscow – Serpuchov) drew this portrait of me in Berlin-Kreuzberg. прекрaсно! The picture is part of her current series 18+ . Check it here: www.facebook.com

More by Victoria Lomasko can be seen at Einstein Forum Potsdam: The exhibition “DRAWING PROTEST” shows works of her and Enrique Flores (Madrid), which originated during the protest movements in 2011 und 2012. Both documented what happened in their capitals, drawing right in the middle of events. At the Potsdam opening night curator Olga Vostretsova (Leipzig) interviewed artist Lomasko on her work. The catalogue, format of a newspaper, contains an essay by Lomasko on the history of Russian reportage drawings. The exhibition “DRAWING PROTEST” will be open until July 11th 2014.

Comic-Workshops im Kunsthaus Dresden

Workshop Daniela1VotKenHeft

On December 1st the Kunsthaus Dresden opened the exhibition “Vot ken you mach?” about Jewish Identities in Europe Today. Instantly the following week I had the possibility to run Comics Workshops, cooperating with a wonderful team, with eighth and ninth grade classes of several Dresden secondary schools. We involved ourselves with the art works of the exhibition and with our own ideas. It was an intensive and inspiring week! The exhibition “Vot ken you mach?” will be open until May 4th 2014 and offers a wide social program. Photo: Daniela Hoferer

The exhibtion The Feminist Pencil – 2″, curated by artist Victoria Lomasko and art historian Nadia Plungian, took place in Moscow from October 23rd until November 6th 2013. An unforgettable experience for me as participant! Social Graphics and Feminist Art were shown, including my comic about Rabbi Regina Jonas in Russian language. To the wide social program I added a Comic Lecture with practical Workshop: “Female Comic Biographies and autobiographical Fragments”. Back in Berlin I wrote two articles about my impressions, released at Der Tagesspiegel: “Kunst im Gegenwind”  and WordWithoutBorders: “Feminist Pencils (and Pens)”. And I recommend an informative article on “The Feminist Pencil-1”, which took place 2012. You can download a brochure here, the article is on page 30ff.
